"The mental health crisis is too big for anyone to tackle alone."

That's the message from the CEO of Sesame Workshop after Morgan Stanley on Tuesday announced a $20 million donation to its Alliance for Children's Mental Health, the New York Times reports.

Since its launch in 2020, the alliance has given $50 million to more than 37 million children and youth, according to a press release.

Tuesday's donation brings that total to $50 million.

Sesame Workshop and the American Academy of Pediatrics will each receive a $1 million donation, and a new Pediatric Mental Health Education Center will help pediatricians "address the immediate mental health needs of children, specifically targeting medically underserved communities," per the press release.

"Pediatricians are often the first and sometimes the only medical professional to see an adolescent or even younger children with mental health conditions," says Mark Del Monte, chief executive officer and executive vice president of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

"This Alliance, which is providing vital resources, is working to ensure that every child has access to mental health care."
