A 9-year-old boy in the United Arab Emirates has won first place in the "Young Entrepreneurs" category at the National Science and Innovation Festival in Abu Dhabi, reports Gulf News.
Youssef Mohammed bin Ismail, a fourth-grader at Sara School for Basic Education, built Legos and used them to wrap and write the names of students' calculators on them.
He then sold the pieces at auction to raise money for his "Lego Creations" project.
"The use of disassembly and assembly activities and the use of cubes to express imagination increases the student's understanding by 70%, and this is confirmed by studies and research as well, considering that the method of learning through play is the exploitation of play activities in acquiring knowledge and bringing the principles of science closer to children and expanding their knowledge horizons," says Youssef.
