Scientists have developed a pre-trained encoder for global child development, addressing a critical data bottleneck hindering machine learning deployment in new countries.
The implications are profound, potentially impacting the lives of the 250 million children globally who experience preventable developmental delays each year.
With as few as 50 training samples, the pre- trained encoder achieves an average Area Under the Curve (AUC) of 0.65.
