It's not just kids who are struggling to make ends meet when it comes to child care.
"It's a workforce issue full stop," says Sarah Rittling, executive director of the First Five Years Fund.
That's why the US Chamber of Commerce and the US Department of Commerce are hosting the first-of-its-kind National Child Care Innovation Summit in Providence, RI, on Tuesday.
The forum will focus on ways to make child care more affordable, accessible, and effective for working parents, Business Insider reports.
"We know we need a wide range of approaches to tackle child care challenges in this country," Rittling says.
"The Chamber has been in this for about a decade, which is frankly, new kid on the block when it comes to child care issues."
