About 7 million children and teens in the US suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, and a new digital tool could help them get the help they need.
The Los Angeles Times reports on a new partnership between Greenspace Health and Behavioral Health Innovations that will make it easier for clinicians to administer the UCLA PTSD Reaction Index, an online tool that's been called the "gold standard for evidence-based assessment of trauma history and PTSD," per a press release.
"Currently, BHI measures are available to be completed manually by clinicians," says Jim Huser, CEO and co-founder of Behavioral Health Innovations.
"Through this alliance, Greenspace Health will host BHI assessments on their platform which will allow for the electronic administration of the UCLA PTSD Reaction Index measures, helping to improve services and treatment outcomes for traumatized children, adolescents, and their families."
The PTSD Index was developed by the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine in the 1980s, and it's been used by clinicians for more than 30 years, according to the press release.
Greenspace Health will host the assessments on its platform, and clinicians will be able to electronically administer them.
