California's Orange County has been named the best in the nation when it comes to public safety, according to the National Association of Counties.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the Orange County Sheriff's Department was named the top department in the state with a total of 20 Achievement Awards from the NACo.
The other seven counties in the state had a combined total of 20 awards.
The sheriff's department received the most awards with eight, followed by the Department of Public Safety with seven, the Department of Justice with six, the Department of Aging with five, the Department of Social Services with four, and the Department of Parks and Recreation with three.
