When it comes to giving back to the community, one company in India is going above and beyond the call of duty.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, visual effects company Technicolor is donating $1 million to the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which provides mid-day meals to children in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru.
The initiative was launched last year by the actor and his production company, Patra Pictures, in partnership with the government of Karnataka, per a press release.
It's not the first time Technicolor has donated to this cause: The company also gave $500,000 last year to the Meghshala Trust, which trains teachers in India's education system, per the Reporter.
But this is the first time Technicolor has made a donation to the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is run by Akshaya Patra himself, per the Hollywood Reporter.
It's unclear how much of a financial impact the donation will have, but the press release notes, "Through our CSR [corporate social responsibility] approach, Technicolor India has invested in seven significant projects as part of its dedication to the education of marginalized communities, particularly underprivileged children and girls."
