If you've got a fever, minor eye problems, allergies, or minor injuries like bruises and scrapes, now you can go to Children's Hospital Los Angelesbut you won't have to leave your house.
The top-ranked pediatric hospital in California has launched a virtual urgent care service that pairs patients with physicians via video meeting from a computer, tablet, or smartphone, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The providers will provide discharge instructions, send prescriptions, and let patients and their families know where and how to get continued care, according to a press release.
The service is available to children and young adults up to age 21 who require after-hours care for non-emergency illness or injuries.
Children's Hospital Los Angeles is the largest provider of hospital care for children in the state of California.
In February, the hospital received $6 million from the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine to develop innovative stem cell approaches to treat children and adolescents with recurrent solid tumors.
