When Nick Flynn died in 2017, he left behind two children who will now receive financial support thanks to a promise made seven years ago.
In a press release, his company, SCP Group, says it has "stepped forward to honor the legacy of the late Nick Flynn by initiating a financial recognition program for his children."
Flynn, who invented the Safelinx Board Retainer system, "faced numerous challenges in bringing his invention to market," the company says.
"Despite initial hurdles in marketing and sales, Flynn's partnership with SCP Group marked a turning point for Safelinx, transforming it from a struggling innovation to a success story."
The company says it has now started an "ongoing financial support program" for Flynn's son, Dylan, and his sister.
"Many people, a seven-year-old promise doesn't mean much, but it shows the honor and integrity of the group," Dylan says.
SCP Group's financial director adds: "It's great to meet Dylan and I look forward to potentially working together in the future and being successful just like our parents act of kindness and compassion."
