Lowe's Innovation Labs launched a decade ago, and in that time, the home improvement chain has been working on technologies that could "transform the home design experience," as the VP of Lowe's Innovation Labs puts it.
One of those technologies is spatial computing, which combines physical and digital worlds to create a realistic digital creation of what people's homes look like, Quartz reports.
Lowe's Innovation Labs has been working on this technology since at least 2014, and it showed off its latest innovations at South by Southwest earlier this month.
For example, consumers can use the Lowe's Style Studio for Apple Vision Pro to see what colors, textures, and finishes would look like in their own homes.
"Whether it's the smallest bit of, a major kitchen remodel or the decor sitting on your table, we want to make that easier," the VP tells The Wearhouse.
Lowe's Innovation Labs has been using virtual reality to help customers visualize their floor plans, and it's also worked on technologies such as the Lowe's Style Studio for Apple Vision Pro, which uses 4K resolution in each eye to create a real-life visual experience.
