There's a new protein powder on the market, and it's designed for people who want to lose weight but don't want to eat a lot of meat.
PB Leiner's collagen protein powder is made from beef and pork collagen peptides, and researchers at the University of Sydney report in the Journal of Clinical Investigation that it appears to help people lose weight by boosting the body's production of collagen peptides, which are believed to be good for the heart, brain, and other parts of the body, per a press release.
Previous research has shown that people who consume a lot of meat, especially beef, tend to consume more collagen peptides than people who don't eat a lot of meat, but this is the first time that a protein powder has been shown to help people lose weight by increasing the production of collagen peptides, per the release.
