The Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals are teaming up to create a center for medical research in Uganda.
The $2 million gift from the Roe Green Foundation will establish a multidisciplinary research building in the country's capital, Kampala, Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals say in a press release.
The collaboration between the two hospitals and Case Western Reserve University has been going on for 38 years, focusing on medical research and education in Uganda, particularly in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
"This facility will further expand the impact of this collaboration and align with the goals of the Uganda CWRU Research Collaboration," the press release says.
The Midwest Pediatric Device Consortium, led by Nationwide Children's Hospital, Ohio State University, Cincinnati Children's, and Cleveland Clinic Children's, aims to increase pediatric device development.
The FDA has awarded a $6.95 million grant to establish the consortium, providing funding, resources, networking, clinical trials infrastructure, and opportunities for collaboration with other Pediatric Device Consortia (PDCs).
