If you're a parent of a child with special health care needs, the city of Pasadena, Calif., wants to make sure you're not alone.
The Pasadena Public Health Department is hosting a "Parent Caf" on Feb.
8, 2024, where parents and caregivers of kids with special health care needs can meet with others with similar challenges and joys, the Pasadena Star-News reports.
There will also be resources for parents, a prize raffle, and a free dinner.
"The event aims to provide an evening of conversation, allowing parents to connect with others facing similar challenges and joys around raising children with special health care needs," says a press release.
The event is part of the California Innovations in Services and Partnerships for Inclusion, Resilience, and Empowerment (Cal-InSPIRE) program, a new initiative funded by the California Department of Public Health.
The program aims to find innovative solutions to address the needs of children and youth with special health care needs and their families in Pasadena.
