The Department of Health and Human Services is offering $1 million to the winner of a competition to develop medical countermeasures for disasters, such as pandemics and natural disasters, the Washington Post reports.
According to a press release, the Alliance for Pediatric Device Innovation and the Pediatric Pandemic Network have teamed up to offer "a unique opportunity for innovators of pediatric medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health solutions."
The purpose of the competition is "to address the unique healthcare needs of children during pandemics and other disasters," the press release says.
