New York's Barnard College is taking the idea of a toddler-friendly college to a whole new level with its new Center for Toddler Development, a 2,600-square-foot space that features an interactive play area complete with mini- cubicles, one-way glass, and a toddler observation room, Fortune reports.
"This carefully curated environment creates a magical atmosphere that encourages exploration play, fostering the development of young minds," the college says in a press release.
There's also an observation room with one-way glass that allows staff and students to study the habits of toddlers without them intruding on their activities.
The center, which opened last month, is designed to promote early childhood development as well as research into early childhood development, according to the press release.
