"Aveanna is revolutionizing the way healthcare is delivered to children with complex medical needs."
That's what the CEO of Aveanna Healthcare Holdings Inc., a pediatric home health care company, had to say in a press release announcing the company's acquisition of Children's Health Corp., a for-profit hospital that treats kids with cancer and other life-threatening conditions.
The deal, which is expected to close by the end of the year, will make Aveanna one of the largest pediatric home health care companies in the US, Fortune reports.
Children's Health is based in Parsippany, NJ, but Aveanna's presence has expanded to 30 states, according to a press release.
The acquisition will give Aveanna access to Children's Health's state-of-the-art equipment and resources, as well as its in-house expertise in treating children with cancer and other life-threatening conditions, according to a press release.
Aveanna will also get access to Children's Health's network of more than 4,000 physicians and nurses, as well as its "next-generation technology"including a mobile app that connects patients with doctors and nurses remotely, according to the press release.
