The Wall Street Journal reports India is the latest country to sign up for Creta Class, a Singapore-based app that teaches kids ages 3 to 4 math using artificial intelligence.
The app was already well-received in India, where it was named Best Educational App for Kids from Indian Education and Edtech Award, per a press release.
India is Creta Class' biggest market yet, with users in more than 500 cities.
The app uses animated stories and interactive exercises to help kids learn math concepts, such as numbers, geometry, logic, patterns, problem-solving, and memory, according to the press release.
It's not the first time artificial intelligence has been used in education.
A 2012 study found it can help children learn math by "developing better study habits from a young age," per the press release.
But Creta Class is hoping to take it to the next level.
"The course encourages children to apply observational and critical thinking skills to real-life scenarios," per the press release.
