Prevent Blindness is calling for nominations for its ninth annual "Bonnie Strickland Champion for Children's Vision Award," which honors individuals and groups at the state and national level who have made an impact on children's vision and eye health.
Nominations are due July 1, 2023, and the awardwhich includes a commemorative plaque, recognition, and the opportunity to present at an annual meeting in 2023will be selected by an all-volunteer committee, per a press release.
The winner will be announced at the National Center for Children's Vision and Eye Health's annual meeting, which will be held virtually in 2023.
Nominees should be able to demonstrate an impact in one or more areas of a population health system supporting children's vision: Key stakeholder engagement or collaboration, including diverse representation from families, racial/ethnic groups, geography, and socio-economic levels from target populations; training resources and education; surveillance and accountability; and the implementation of new and innovative solutions to barriers to healthy vision in children.
