The state of Michigan has allocated $2.4 million to 16 organizations across the state to address a persistent child care shortage, Crain's Detroit Business reports.
According to the Detroit Free Press, quality child care is hard to come by in the state because many providers leave the field and don't return.
The grants from the Early Childhood Investment Corp.
will be used to develop strategies to address the shortage.
The grants are part of $12.5 million in federal funding the ECIC received in August.
