This year's winners of the Bologna Prize for the Best Children's Publishers of the Year are out, and it's a good year for independent publishers in general.
The prize, which recognizes publishers who have "stood out over the last year for their innovation, creativity, and the quality of their editorial choices," is given out at the world's largest children's book fair in Italy, reports the New York Times.
Among the winners: Africa: Trinta Zero Nove, Mozambique.
Editora Trinta Zero Nove is the first independent publisher dedicated to publishing translated works in Mozambique.
Europe: The Old Lion Publishing House, Ukraine.
North America: La Courte, Canada.
Magbala Books, Australia.
Central and South America and the Caribbean: Editorial Amanuta, Chile.
