Starting Wednesday, eligible families in Alberta, Canada, will be able to apply for six $100-per-month "emergency payments," the Edmonton Journal reports.
The payments are part of a $2.8 billion three-year affordability package announced by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith in November.
They're meant to help families whose annual income is less than $180,000 Canadian ($180,000 in US dollars) deal with rising inflation.
The government estimates the $900 million in payments will help 2.5 million families over the next three years.
The applications will be accepted online at account.alberta.ca.
