Children's Hospital New Orleans and Our Lady of the Lake Children's Health have a lot in common: They're two of the top children's hospitals in Louisiana, with a combined annual revenue of more than $1 billion, per the Times-Picayune.
But they're now planning to team up even more.
The two hospitals announced Thursday that they're forming a new affiliation, effective Jan. 1, 2023, that will see Children's Hospital New Orleans take over day-to-day operations of Our Lady of the Lake Children's Health in Baton Rouge, per a press release.
The two hospitals will also work together to create a statewide network of children's specialty care.
"We know that we can do more together," says Children's Hospital New Orleans CEO Johnickens IV. "For example, we will be able to join forces in the recruitment of pediatric sub-specialists, retention of top talent, and our commitment to build centers of excellence for pediatric care, close to home."
The two hospitals will initially focus on enhancing pediatric activities in Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes, per the press release, before moving on to create a statewide network of children's specialty care.
