Imagine having a baby with a hip abnormality who needs a harness to keep him or her safe while in the hospital.

That's the idea behind a student-led team that took home the top prize at a recent hackathon at the University of Arkansas in Bentonville, KATV reports.

Over 48 hours, the team worked with clinicians at Arkansas Children's Hospital to come up with a solution to a problem that faced them in the real world, according to a press release.

The team's solution: a more comfortable harness that can be worn by the wearer while the baby is in an incubator.

"I don't think we would have been able to fully comprehend the problem without the unique backgrounds of each member group," says Jenna Kempkes, one of the students on the team.

The team took home $1,000 in prize money after coming up with a prototype that could be used in the real world.

The hackathon is part of the university's Northwest Arkansas Biodesign Sprints program, KATV notes.

"In two days you solved problems that literally have been here for decades, and I would love it if you continue doing what you're doing and keep thinking forward," says Dr. Tara Dalabih, a pediatric critical care medicine physician at Arkansas Children
