One of the world's most well-known brands is taking a stand against climate change.
Colgate-Palmolive on Tuesday announced that it will stop using single-use plastic bags in its products, effective immediately, the New York Times reports.
The move follows a similar one by Procter & Gamble, which said last month that it would stop using plastic bags in its products by the end of this year.
According to a press release, Colgate's decision to stop using plastic bags is in line with the company's "long-term strategy to reduce plastic waste," as well as its goals of reducing plastic waste and promoting recyclability, saving water, and improving children's oral health.
It also follows a similar move by Kimberly-Clark, which said last month that it would stop using single-use plastic bags in its products by the end of this year.
