She'S Staying: Gov. Desantis Says Shevaun Harris Is Back for Second Term

"Shevaun Harris has done an excellent job serving Florida's families," Gov.

Ron DeSantis tweeted Monday.

"I look forward to continuing working with her this upcoming term."

Harris is the secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families, which oversees the state's Medicaid program and is in charge of determining which Florida residents are eligible for Medicaid, the Miami Herald reports.

She was appointed to the DCF post by then-Gov.

Rick Scott in January 2021.

"With your bold leadership, we have done amazing things for children and families in our great State," Harris said in a tweet Monday.

"Looking forward to the great things that are yet to come!"
