The FDA's Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation (NCCPDI) has released its annual list of winners from a competition meant to spur innovation in medical devices for children.
Here's a look at the winners, who each received a $25,000 grant to develop a device in one of five categories: eardrum repair: Maine-based Tympan developed PerfFix for eardrum repair.
Children's Hospital of Richmond, Va.-based Xpananian developed a universal robotic procedures pad: Canada-based company Eskanian developed a minimally invasive elbow brace to improve treatment of cardiac failure.
cerebral palsy: Texas-based Eskanian has developed a retrofit for cerebral palsy treatments.
