"We see this conference as a look over the horizon at what few researchers know but which millions of practitioners, parents, and policy makers will want to know and apply in the future."
That's the message from the CEO of Learning Grove, which is holding its fourth annual Breakthroughs in Early Childhood conference in Covington, Ky., this week, the Northern Kentucky Tribune reports.
The theme: "A New Reality in Early Childhood Education."
More than 200 thought leaders from around the country are in town for the two-day conference, which is focusing on four key areas: anti-racist education, re-thinking trauma, family engagement, and developmental neuroscience.
"We see this conference as a look over the horizon at what few researchers know but which millions of practitioners, parents, and policy makers will want to know and apply in the future," says Learning Grove's Shannon Starkey-Taylor, who notes that the company's Innovation Lab has worked on character science, including "curiosity and love of learning."
