Omani youth enters Jordan innovation contest final with project on water conservation

The final round of Jordan's King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement is underway, and one young man from Oman has made it all the way to the finals.

Ahmed Amer Al Jabri's project, titled "Qatra or droplet modern techniques on the rationalization of water use in irrigating plants," focuses on the use of modern techniques in the rationalization of water use in irrigating plants, the National reports.

Jabri, who will be presented with his prototype in front of a panel of judges next month, will receive $50,000 for his project, which he hopes to use to develop techniques to rationalize water use in irrigating plants.

Jabri is one of 41 young people from eight Arab countries competing in the final round of the award, which generated 85,000 jobs and 85,000 direct and indirect jobs over the past five editions of the award, which is organized under the theme "From Jordan to the Arab Youth."

Another Jordanian,Rasha Abu Shakhdam, qualified for the final round with her project, " technology- supported innovative products and educational tools targeting deaf children."

Haitham Ali Khalifa from Egypt qualified for his project aimed at economic empowerment of the marginalised sectors of the society in the field of agriculture.
