The small town of Pipestone, Minn., is trying to do something about its lack of childcare.
The Pipestone Economic Development Authority has applied for a grant that would allow it to work with local employers, daycare providers, and government entities to come up with solutions to the problem, the St.
Paul Pioneer Press reports.
"It's not a childcare center, but a family childcare provider can rent one of those pods for a nominal fee' I think it was a dollar a month' and then run a daycare out of that city-owned building," says EDA Director Justin Schroyer.
If Pipestone is accepted into the Rural Child Care Innovation Program, the services provided by the grant would not cost the EDA or the city anything.
