President of India Droupadi Murmu has handed out India's highest civilian honor to 19 children for their bravery, science, and technology, and innovation, reports the Times of India.
The children, all under the age of 18, received the Pradhan Bal Puraskar from Murmu at a ceremony in New Delhi on Tuesday.
"Our children have versatile talents," said Murmu, per the Times.
"They have immense potential to create their own identity through dedication and hard work."
"It is our duty to show them the right direction so that they can utilize their talent and energy properly," she added.
Murmu said that nowadays children are tech-savvy and are using technology for their education, "but technology is often misused also," reports the Indian Express.
"Many crimes like deep fake, financial fraud, exploitation of children are being committed through technology," she said.
