"Gabbo," " Grem," and "Grok" are the newest members of the "talking plush toy" familyand they're smart, they're adorable, and they're safe.
That's because the new toys, fromCurio and Grimes, use artificial intelligence to talk to each other, connect to WiFi, and access transcripts of each other's conversations, TechCrunch reports.
The trio have personalities of their own: Grok is a rocket, Grem is a space alien, and Gabbo is a curious adventurer, per a press release.
They're also kid-safe, because they don't come with any screens or cameras, and they don't need to be touched to talk.
The press release calls them "kid-safe, screen-free, and still interactive" and notes that they offer parents "an added sense of security during playtime."
They do, however, come with a warning: "These kid-safe plush toys do connect to Wi-Fi but steer clear of screens or cameras, and parents get extra peace of mind by being able to access transcripts of conversations between the toy and their child."
