A 7-year-old girl in India has won the country's highest honor for bravery, the Times of India reports.
Pradhaniya Balkar won thePradhaniya Balkar Award for Sports, Social Service, Science & Technology, Environment, Arts & Culture, and Innovation after she displayed "exceptional bravery for others and young children with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievements," according to a press release from the East Khasi Hills District.
The release says the award "deserves recognition at the national level" in fields such as sports, social service, science, and technology, environment, arts, and culture.
Pradhaniya won the gold medal in the girl's age group and the silver medal in the boy's age group.
The 9-year-old won the bronze medal in the girl's age group.
