A Houston-area Christian ministry has been awarded a contract by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to reform the state's child welfare system in the Piney Woods area, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Arrow Child & Family Ministries has been awarded a contract to be the "Single Source Continuum Contractor" for the area, which includes Harris and Galveston counties.
The contract, which starts March 1, will see 4Kids4Families transition the state's child welfare system from a statewide model to a community-based model that will meet the needs of children, youth, and families in the area.
Arrow's CEO says the company is "honored to serve alongside the Piney Woods region that so passionately cares for their children and will do so with innovation and creativity to bring a transformational difference and the best outcomes for kids."
