New York Gov.
Andrew Cuomo has signed a bill that will make it easier for parents to send their children to public schools, the New York Daily News reports.
The bill, which still needs to be signed by the state's Department of Education, allows parents to pay up to $20,000 to send their children to one of six Zeta Charter Schools (which also include schools in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan).
The idea behind the bill is to make it easier for parents to choose the school that's right for their child, and the New York Times reports that the bill's supporters say it will help even the playing field for parents who can't afford to send their kids to a traditional school.
"This bill will help even the playing field for parents who can't afford to send their children to a traditional school," says state Sen.
Ruben Diaz Jr.
