The latter is a reference to the state's second round of grant awards that will help create 77 new childcare slots, the Des Moines Register reports.
The grants, totaling $443,234, will be awarded to 11 businesses that will work with local and regional childcare centers to increase new available slots for their employees, not at the expense of existing or available slots in the local area.
"The payback of these investments in Iowa's childcare system are many, but most important are long term benefits to Iowa's children who are more prepared to enter the education system," says Kelly Garcia, director of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.Selected Grant News Headlines
