If you're looking for a fun way to raise money for charity, the Steel Magnolias may have just the thing for you.
The Long Beach Press-Telegram reports on the group's recent "5 Alarm" fundraiser, which was attended by 200 people and raised more than $64,000 for children with developmental delays, behavioral and learning challenges, and other special needs.
Centering the dining tables were vodka-filled fire extinguishers, and the event's auctioneer, Zack Krone, had the audience bidding against themselves and their neighbors.
"Laughter reigned with his innovative approach to separate the audience from their wallets," writes the Press-Telegram.
