Ecoprenuership - Promoting Well-Being of Children through Climate Resilience

credit:

Peter Makwanya, a climate change communicator, writes for NewsDay and shares his opinion on sustainable living and survival of children.

He highlights the essence of environmental eco-prenuership for sustainable development as a key factor for sustainable living and the next generation's survival.

Makwanya defines eco-prenuership as a deliberate human innovation to expand the supply of natural resources and improve the quality of the environment. He adds that eco-prenuership seeks to address the environment and sustainability of the natural resources, deeply-rooted and anchored in the spirit of heritage, stewardship and dominionship.

Makwanya urges that children need to be coached in creative aspects of adapting to the environment while making it productive.

He advises that the decisions parents today make regarding the environment, have a strong bearing and influence on the future of the children.

Makwanya have lined up strategies where parents need to conform to the ethical and child protection issues and standards of doing things to protect children from being abused and equipping them with sustainable voices to "be heard, loud and clear."
